I don’t know where to start with this.
I am self employed and run my own company and have done for around 4 years. While the tax payments have always been absurde, the last six months has been wildly insane.
Last year (around 6 months ago) i was given a tax notice and the asset was placed on seizure immediately without warning.
I came home from a work trip to find this letter in my mail box to say i have late unpaid taxes once again.
I sent it to my tax lawyer immediately as this again, came out of no where with no notice at all from them or the Finanzamt. They said “they will look into it” which doesn’t inspire confidence at all.
I submit my accounts every month, I also pay a lot of income tax and MwSt every month that my accountant tells me to, but this happening twice in 6 months for 5-6k both times is becoming a bit suspect.
Who is at fault here? Me? The accountants?
They have full power of attorney and are chartered here in Germany.
Can or should I take action against them? Because I can’t keep opening my mail every six months to huge tax payments, simply because they aren’t submitting them correctly or at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated please.

First imo you need to start taking active part in your tax affairs. Your lackadaisical way of letting the accountants and tax lawyers handle it is clearly causing some repeated issues here. Talk to them and demand that they explain to you in details what went wrong and how they are going to fix it for you. I don’t understand how this keeps happening supposedly and you’re just like „well I sent them the letter, haha, hope they’ll do something about it :(„ and then instead of storming their office and demanding an explanation you come to Reddit?!
Second, once you have your problem resolved, you should consider changing whoever was responsible for the mistakes.
