Must have been a chock for Rochelle to arrive there after living in Milan.
It looks so sad.
adidas
Hasn’t changed much
Dystopic looking place
If you’d tell me it was Warsaw I’d believe you. All eastern european cities look alike.
Trolleys!
Beautiful
Belarus is on my to visit list. Looks like the type of places I like. Has much changed?
There was a little bit of r/UrbanHell over there.
Miserable looking
Explains why most people I met from there were miserable too
Back then probably there was more freedom in Belarus than these days
The ussr the good old days
Heavily sure that a lot of russia looks exactly this in 2024.
at number 16 how is there Adidas sign? wasn’t western companies banned in the Eastern bloc?
I seriously don’t think it’s that bad. Whats so bad abt this? Looks like Lisbon on a rainy day…
Heavy North Korea vibes.
No wonder all marxist countries look the same, they are all ruled by the same type of scumbag.
I’m thinking about going here in a couple of weeks. To go skiing. ⛷️ I have to check the snow conditions though…
Plot twist, pictures taken today.
Ah luckily they have adidas, gotta buy sportpants my slavic brethren
I only read Minsk then went ahead and looked at the picture and thought it was the 1900s 😭 Gosh this was in the 70s-90s? Y’all got robbed, my Belarussian people. 🙁
I’m playing this game every now and then, called workers of the socialist republic. Resource management and city building in this era.
You would think the graphics are mediocre at best until you see these pictures. That’s when it hits you just how realistic it looks and feels.
Hasn’t changed a bit. Which is sad.
Maybe with another government…
No cars and people seems happy
Same photos could be taken today and with the right filter you’d never be able to tell the difference.
For the period, it’s about as colorful and vibrant than I expected
