2. The soldier is actually the owner of the Hummus restaurant at the gas station. He is a reservist who just returned from a tour in Gaza.

   8 months ago (before the current war), 4 Israeli civilians were murdered at the same gas station.

   Edit: the Palestinian attacker turned out to be a member of the security forces of the Palestinian authority.
