  1. I highly recommend this film/documentary for anyone who’s interested in WW1.

  2. I’m glad we don’t use animals in our stupid wars anymore. Except battle-cats and sniffer doggos

    Battle-cats are cool

  3. God I feel sorry for the horses… They really don’t deserve humans…

  4. Millions dead because of a few power mad freaks. Think about it, your life is totally in the hands of roughly 8-10 people. One crazy fucker’s decision could mean the end every living creature on earth. Good times…

  5. I hope those soldiers shot that horse at the end rather than let it suffer.

  6. Could only imagine when the polish rode their horses into Germans, what was it? Battle of Krojanty?

  7. Saw this in theaters and it was amazing. Not only that, the post show of peter jackson going through what went into the production shows the passion that went into it.

In terms of this scene, it shows you how even back then how deadly and accurate artillery already was, and shows you how fast shrapnel travels by looking at the dust kicking up far away from it.
