We’ve had a lot of craziness over the last few years but honestly watching the media and commentary go so hard to bat for this *obviously* ridiculous idea has really taken the biscuit. How long’s it taken the right to realize this plan is ridiculous, two, three *years*? And the bulk of that has seemingly been spent on some bizarre discussion about the concept of deterrence as if this plan even if working as intended would have ever been any kind of deterrent. Oh no I just threw away all my life savings and am about to risk my very life itself to risk coming to the UK. What’s that, a sub 1% chance I might get deported to what I’m being told is quite a lovely little holding camp in Africa’s Singapore? God how awful better head right back to Afghanistan with that news! Get fucking real and be serious ffs.

Seriously, is this another Tory situation where, they put in this crazy scheme, and Rishi is doing it as an Afront to show that he is willing to do something for the public that support him, but behind the scenes, he knows/thinks it will fail, but at least he’ll turn up for the next election and be like “hey, remember when I was xenophobic and tried to turn away migrants?, vote for me”
Like, I don’t think he really wants this to happen, a bit like Boris didn’t want brexit to happen, but it did and he had to keep up the charades to maintain it.
Like seriously, if this is the tories plan (for the Rwanda scheme to ultimately fall flat on its face), and it really costs £1.8 mill per those 300 people…you know what, let’s make it happen and waste the publics money on this bullshit and let the tories own it.

Children and cancer patients are told they can’t get life saving drugs due to costs every year. Cancer outcomes are 15 years behind our peers. The NHS, schools and dental services could do with this money and attention.
They don’t even care anymore that their priorities are skewed and they now just pander to GB News luddites.

Rwanda’s current president has won his presidency each time by over a 90% landslide. It’s well known to the world this is due to fraud , violence and intimidation.
