The justices will have to do some pretty impressive legal gymnastics to justify the notion that presidents are immune from any criminal liability for crimes committed while in office. On it’s face it’s a preposterous idea with no basis in law. They would be inventing new law, whole cloth, with such a ruling. If they do rule that presidents are immune from prosecution for any crimes committed while in office, Joe Biden should immediately task SEAL Team Six with assassinating Trump. After all, by that SCOTUS ruling Biden would be fully immune from any liability for the crime, and all will be well.
They know that even though he’s guilty of all charges the corrupt Supreme Court will rule in his favour . Fucking pathetic

Idk if this decision or the Dobbs case was the worse decision by this supreme court. Dobbs caused millions of women to lose their rights but this is just spitting at justice.

Please understand that the Court is helping Trump by taking the case, regardless of their ruling. It delays consequences for Trump till after the election.
The Court can rule against Trump and it would still help him. If the ruling makes his trial end after the election and he wins the election, he can use his power in office to avoid consequences.
If we don’t defeat him in November, the universe will learn the lesson that you can do all of this—you can live 80 years as a rotten, unfunny, boring lascivious grifting clown, and never once have a moment of introspective moral questioning.

The court isn’t even looking at the facts of the case, the facts are pretty much there. They aren’t taking the case on merit, they’re just helping him run out the clock.
Remember how urgently they moved when he might be off the ballot even though the constitution is pretty clear on the matter and even offered a remedy (vote by congress can overrule the state’s decision)? That was verrrrry speedy.
They sat on this for 2 1/2 weeks when there was nothing legal to decide and the decision was rendered on a single sheet of paper.

If he wins the presidency and then if SC rules that he is immune then there will be no containing his actions (seal team 6). If after winning the presidency the SC rules that he isn’t immune then he will stop at nothing to retain power to avoid consequences. Jan 6th will look like a mild dispute in comparison.
One would thing that an obviously innocent man would want to fast-track his trials to show a voting public what an upstanding guy he was.

As far as I can tell, the SCOTUS Judges are super political. They ruined fair elections with Citizens United. They stopped the recount in Florida. They are aiding Trump in delaying his trials. They have taken rights away from people. They are gonna take more rights away soon. They’ve done nothing to interpret 2A in a manner that protects people. There is nothing to respect about the Supreme Court of the United States.
