  1. >“I think he endeared himself to people because he is seen as being fallible and making mistakes. People loved him for that, and whether he has squandered all that goodwill, I do worry about that. So yes, I am angry and disappointed.”

What endeared him to others was an act, but he played it so well.

  2. …. Everything will be fine when we replace this lying twunt with a new shiny twunt promising the world and delivering a polished turd, which in ‘real terms’ will be unpolished and not the turd that was voted for but they’re Tory and that’s all that matters.

  3. Why? Do they stand for something different? To be a Tory is to be a lie. You are not serving the people.

How dare they presume they are better than Boris. He is not an aberration, he is the clearest, purest personification of what the Torrie party is.

  4. I agree he has embarrassed us.
I’m glad Labour have a competent leader in Keir Starmer that can end this Tory rule

  5. Because they know he’s going to fuck their chances of reelection and they want a new Boris v2 with a clean image.

    Stay, Boris. See it out.

  6. I’m sorry the Tories are generally more popular than the opposition. That’s why they win so many elections. England’s population is inherently conservative. Trying to convince yourself they are a minority tricking people to vote them is disingenuous.

I am one of those that want him ousted but mostly due to his support of LTNs.

  7. Johnson is just a symptom of the disease. Corruption is endemic in the Tories and there is no one really suitable to take Johnson’s place should he go. No party is perfect but the Tories are now purely in politics for themselves, for the bribes, gifts and contacts the job brings. It was bad under Cameron and May, it was encouraged under Johnson. If grassroots Tories want the party back, they need to do more than just get rid of Johnson.

  8. Maybe Johnson is doing the country a favour by splitting Tories asunder and breaking the two party system.

    Nero fiddling while Rome burns

  9. He wasn’t the only one there… Alot of people need to quit yes? Is there a list of those losing their jobs?

  10. Please let it get to 48/52 in favour of Boris resigning. It would be the most poetic ending.

  11. > Tory MPs reported being inundated with emails about the issue, with one describing the numbers as “off the scale”. A staffer said a lot of emails to their MP contained “stories of personal hardship from new people, not the regulars”.

Given the spam on social media (e.g. Reddit) that is not from the UK, they would do well to check what proportion of those emails are attributable to actual constituents who are not members of another party or campaign groups.

And maybe check there’s not one saying *”I think it is vitally important the PM resigns to restore credibility to the government. Ideally on Thursday because I’m planning a road trip to Kiev on Friday. In earnest sincerity, from your pal, Vladimir.”*
