  1. I wonder how many they have left that are operational and up to date, not too mention trained crew for them…..

That array on the plane is like a massive bullseye on the plane ha ha

    Slava Ukraini

  2. LMAO, because they can’t afford to lose A50 anymore. Ukraine destroyed two, but they only have maybe 6-7 left.

  3. It can’t be that russia lied about how many of those planes were operationally ready. They’d never do that! s/

  4. I wonder how? I wonder why? Why dont’ we see A-50’s in the blue blue sky!

  5. Oh. So Russia is out of these early warning radar planes, or Russia is out of people who are capable using these radars. Can not produce new planes, have no one to train new crew. Beautiful!

  6. Ukraine’s probably working hard on destroying one more. Even when it’s still on the ground.

    That’s what I would do.

  7. According news, they had started this in 2022 with 9 A50 AWACS jets; 3x A50 and 6x upgraded (new build) A50 U.

They have completed two more, the last in Sep-2023. It is said, more can not be build as due to the embargo/sanctions, parts will not be available. We will have to see.

One was damaged by the drones in Belarus but most likely not severe as it was already flown out for repair few days after. The damage seems to have involved the hull of the radar dome, likely the radar below was not severely damaged. I expect this jet is now back on duty.

2x A50U have been now shot down, so Russia shall have now 3x A50 and 6x A50U left. What I do not know, are they using both versions (so the older A50 and the upgraded A50U) or only the A50U in Ukraine?

So we have likely still the same numbers as at the start of the war. But as seen now, with the implementation of the MIM104 Patriot and the implementation of the extended range upgraded S200 in the S300 system, they have forced them far further back, and possibly even so far, that the A50/A50U are not any more useful as out of range.
