Would be a great time for NATO to decide to commit to air supremacy over Ukraine.
Help Wanted: Looking for brave pilot to fly jet #12.
I know it’s probably not the same as ground armour, but I’ve heard this soo many times with Russia running out of tanks, equipment and men but they still have them… But guessing pilots and jets are much much harder to replace.
Doubtful.
Ukraine is getting slaughtered.
Is there any proof like footage of any jets being shot down?
Why do people keep spreading these kinds of articles?
It’s less blatant than the whole Ghost of Kyiv thing, but not by much.
Obviously they haven’t lost this many aircraft and Ukraine is lying – just like Ukraine has only lost “30,000” troops. Give me a break.
I guess they are trying to get as much done as they can with their jets before ukraine gets the F16s lol
**Reality:**
Because of delayed military assistance, Russia decided to exchange some number of aircraft (in 2022 years Ukraine destroyed following aircraft figures, order by most successful months: 114, 49, 30, 29, 16, 12, 11, 10) on important fortified area by lunching up to 125 glide bombs per day.
**Western media:**
So not to ask “Why after 2 years USA/NATO handed over to Ukraine only 0,15%/0,33% of own aviation?”: it’s incredible victory! As always, thinking only about “bleeding Russia” numbers, and not about Ukrainian loses from glide bombs because of extreme shortage of medium-range air defense and aviation.
The rumours of their collapse are greatly exaggerated here
11 jets matter? They have the resources of an abandoned gas station.
Air inferiority.
“*the Russian army in Ukraine is advancing against other Ukrainian garrisons that also are running out of ammo—**all thanks to Russia-aligned Republicans in the U.S. Congress**, who have been blocking further U.S. aid to Ukraine since October.*”
Forbes going straight for the jugular, good on em.
Only 1 SU-34 and 1 A-50 have actually been downed, according to evidence. There’s no co-incidence that Ukraine is claiming a military propaganda victory now because they just lost Avdiivka and are subsequently being pushed back on the ground. Claiming they are destroying the Russian airforce is a distraction technique to boost morale at a difficult moment. Russia losing the A-50 is actually pretty significant and a solid win for Ukraine but I guess it wasn’t enough.
I’m sure they are busy adding all these “downed planes” to that fantasy list of lost Russian equipment updated every day. This war will end with Russia apparently having “lost” more military equipment than they have built in the last century.
Make it a baker’s dozen.
Russky go home.
I think people should pump their breaks on this. We haven’t seen any evidence of shoot downs yet.
Don’t they have thousands of aircraft?
So much for that Superior Russian Technology lol
Man it is Russia. It is vast and has strong trade partners that don’t care about sanctions. This is sensationalism and achieves nothing. People need hope to stay engaged with supporting an issue I guess. Imagine if Ukraine war news were realistic? Every day it would be something like
“Today; we lost X men and Y were wounded but no worries we still have millions more to sacrifice. We lost X amount of vehicles and we need X+3 from US/EU/UK. Russia restocking infinite ammo from DPRK/Iran. Tomorrow, we go again.”
As the saying goes, “one downed jet a day, keeps ruzrikes away”
Russia has no other option but to continue bombing, even if it could lead to the depletion of their newer jets.
Russia’s version of JDAM is incredibly effective against fortified positions. Ukraine still doesn’t have F-16 or SHORAD to cover all frontline. Aid from the US will be resumed only in 2025 if Dems can win the House and Presidency.
This is the best time to try to crush Ukraine. They just can’t use fewer jets – pressure on the Ukrainian position should be constant.

When in doubt, threaten nukes.
Until then, I think we will be ok with our Iron Eagle squadrons (1980-90’s movies for those younger years)

Russia has *hundreds* of war planes tho.

Shooting down 11 in 11 days is great but it’s sadly also just a tiny fraction of Russia’s air force.
