Let’s not forget that the Russian police officers, prosecutors and judges all bear responsibility for his murder too.

the fact there’s a huge police presence speaks volumes. kudos to those with the guts to show up.
I dearly hope these people coming to the funeral will be okay… After Navalny had died hundreds of Russians were laying flowers at a monument to victims of political repression and they were getting arrested just for that. There reports of men even getting their fingers broken or being forced to sign off on conscription.
Coming to Navalny’s funeral is very brave but very dangerous. I suggest that Russians who want to resist should focus on convincing their friends and relatives on the need to resist (convincing people of that is the most important part of toppling a popular authoritarian regime) rather than risky public protests. You cannot fight the state if you don’t have the country with you.

They were not tens of thousands, just a couple of thousands… Which honestly makes their courage even more impressive.
There was a lot of police involved and (allegedly) snipers on the roofs around the church.
Kudos to the people who went there, despite the risks, to provide companionship and solidarity to the mourning parents. They didn’t stand alone
Kudos to this mother and father who raised a man with resilience, a moral voice, and the great courage to stand up against evil.
First their business (they owned a small basket-weaving company) was ruined because their son was an opposition politician, then their other son was imprisoned because his brother was an opposition politician, then their first son was poisoned, arrested and killed because he was an opposition politician.
