  1. Actually I do not want to know because if I do then Russia does and they can take measures to stop the losses. Sometimes the media just needs to Shut the fuck up. Now this article is not a problem as is just has some vague statements on new capabilities and the title is click bait.

  2. i dont want to know…i shouldnt know stop digging into it let it be.

  3. We probably won’t know for a long time, and that’s a good thing.

I think there’s only three options:

    1. Ukraine has gained an electronic advantage to greatly improve targeting.
    2. Allies have given Ukraine something to make up for the shortfall created by Republicans.
    3. Ukraine has developed something on their own, a hybrid of donated systems.

I’ve seen all three posited by people who understand far more than I do, and the distance Ukraine is allegedly working from to take these down seems to suggest it might be a combination of improved targeting and an additional weapon/hybrid.

  4. It seems like a real coincidence that the A-50 was downed about the same time as all of the other planes.  Ukraine says they have “new tools.”  Since the A-50 was shot down at such a long range, whatever the new tool is presumably must be really long ranged.  I don’t think the Patriot can shoot that far.

It makes me wonder if somehow Ukraine has the Meteor air to air missile.  It’s one of the only missiles that is known to be able to shoot that far.  Maybe they have integrated it with the MiG-29 or maybe there is a new plane in Ukraine.

  5. Russia though Ukraine had run out of Patriots, turns out they actually have plenty

  6. If no one knows by now then its purposefully being kept secret. “Usually” there’s some small piece of info that gets out on something like this but there’s only pure speculation right now.

  7. I think the total cost of those airplanes would be equal to fixing all roads or building a school or hospital in every city, or something like that.

  8. As the air defense systems presence increase in quantity snd dispersion, they are moving from exclusive city defence to a more active role. Put it together with a dramatic increase of RU glide bombing missions and you have the superposition between the 100km nomb drop and the 200km AA systems….

  9. A post from early today (forgot which so can’t link) talked about one factor contributing to the increase in RU losses: the trajectory bombers are taking to release glide bombs for optimum distance. They have to fly higher and faster and that may be contributing to them getting shot down more easily.

  10. Passive detection abilities of Ukraine feeds into Patriot system. Launch without using patriot radars maybe?

  11. We don’t know yet if the numbers are real or made up. We have independent confirmation of only two kills.

  12. We don’t need to know the details of classified military tactics. Such posts should be deleted

  13. Whistling in Canadian *walks away and closes door softly *

  14. Ukraine used special secret kovbasa recipe to take out these aircraft. Mordor is trying reverse engineer the recipe, but is failing miserably.
