**For context**: I started working in March, am a B permit worker taxed at source.
**The situation:** I received my *certificat de salaire* (CDS) recently where it attests what is my total taxable income (*Cumul des prestations soumises à la source*) for 2023. I am barème A0N (single, no dependants). According to my CDS, **I am being taxed 16.5% approx**.
However, if I go to the [Canton of Geneva´s online calculator for tax at source](https://www.ge.ch/impot-source/baremes-perception-calculette-impot-source) and put exactly the same conditions (A0, the gross income + benefits that is declared in my CDS), it says that **my tax should be 13.2%.**
**Help?** This seems like a big disagreement, potentially some 1.000s of CHF. I also have a 3a pillar (VIAC) maxed out + some side investments, so I was going to declare my taxes anyways. **Am I missing something here?** How come that there is this blatant discrepancy?
Any insight is much appreciated, et merci!

I think the explanation lies in the fact that you started work in March.
The employer applies the rate for a full year’s work (income over twelve months).
With 10 months, you had a lower income in 2023, which is why the rate is not the same and why you can ask for the tax deducted to be rectified. Especially for adding other reductions (3rd pillar)
