  6. American Ethane donated $37,000 to Johnsons campaign in 2018. It came to light years ago that the company was 88% owned by Russians. American Ethane was fined for breaking the law, and the money was returned. 

    Whatever else I may think of Mike Johnson, this has been blown up into something it is not. It’s not new information, it’s not a secret, and no one raising millions per year in campaign funds is going to be bought off for $37,000.

  13. This is also making some pretty tenuous connections. American Ethane signed a $26 billion contract with a Chinese company in 2017. This deal was highlighted by Trump at a US/China summit. It’s something he talked about, not something he personally brokered.
