Ignorance of the law is not a defence, or so I am told…
The worst part is that Britain and in particular the media is so degraded that we’ll now have to have a discussion about if he really thought that or not, instead of everyone hammering him for making up something so fucking stupid.
So the new argument, *from his own supporters*, is that Boris is a moron?
Slow news morning? The breaking news is that minister repeats what was said last Wednesday.
He was on the [Today programme](https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0013hxc) this morning just after 8:00 and it was embarrassing as fuck. He used the death of one of his uncles of covid so to speak from authority when defending Johnson. No one should be so low as to ask anyone to spit on their relative grave like that and no one should ever go so low as to do that for their boss.
The good ship Work Event hit an iceberg and sank last week, Nadhim. Try and keep up.
So it’s between being a moronic c**t vs being an elitist c**t… To me both positions are untenable as a PM of this country.
Dear Nadhim Zahawi,
Boris Johnson knew the Downing Street Lockdown Party was a Downing Street lockdown party and now thanks to your pointless statement, we know you are an untrustworthy liar.
Kind Regards,
Everybody.
Work gatherings unless absolutely essential were also banned during this period. Essential meaning people had to be in close contact to get a task done. Doesn’t matter if it was a party or not, they still broke the rules.
I wonder if they realise that every time they make this argument, it makes Boris look worse? It’s so patently ridiculous that it actively hurts their cause more than shutting up.
Man who’s never done a days work in his life confused by what it looks like.
So, two things. First, it took our Prime Minister 25mins to realise it was a party and not a work event. And secondly, once he realised it was a party, did he try to stop it?
I feel like I’ve been reading the same headline for a month now
The sycophancy on display from the Cabinet is astounding.
Either Johnson is a fucking idiot, or he is (yet again) talling bare-faced lies. That’s the crux of the matter.
I don’t understand how this could ever be interpreted as a defense. There are various types of work event, but a work event which is a party is still a party.
Even if this is true (which I doubt), we weren’t meant to have work events either. The whole point was that there was no non-essential mixing at all, period. Saying that he thought it was a work event doesn’t make it any less wrong.
“Oh there’s a work event on in this room that I’ve been asked to come to… cool, I’ll go right on in…. oh ok they’re all chatting and holding wine glasses, and there are half full bottles of wine and beer sitting on the desks… I wonder what the discussion topic is for this work event? Oh wait, there’s music playing so we can’t really be discussing policy I suppose… I’ll just go hang my coat up in this other room… hmm that secretary is getting railed on top of the photocopier, and those two interns are snorting coke… are we sure that this is a work event? Oh well, who am I to argue, not as if I’m the PM or anything… can someone get me a drink?”
There were balloons, booze, music, a buffet, a dance floor, cheese and wine and not a work desk in sight and I couldn’t help but think to myself ‘this is one of the greatest work events I’ve been too’.
Boris, probably.
I’m sick of hearing about Boris Johnson now. As a country, can we please do better in the next general election?
Here’s what Zahawi had to say on the Today programme:
>he’s human and we make mistakes and actually he came to the despatch box and apologised
This line of defence makes me irrationally angry. So, being a fallible human and apologising is all it ever needs to get out of trouble with the law now? Are we all allowed to do that? Got caught with a spliff? “Meh, sorry, officer. No hard feelings, eh?” Got caught speeding? “Ah well, you know what it’s like, officer, we all make mistakes. Soz and that.”. What a muppet.
If Zahawi is right, Boris Johnson is one of the stupidest people ever to have lived. He should be removed from office for his own safety.
But Zahawi’s not right, is he? He knows that the things he’s saying aren’t true. He’s lying.
They just continue to dig their own grave, deeper and deeper they go. You do love to see it.
The fact they can’t tell the difference between a work day and a piss up speaks volumes.
How is that better? How thick do you have to be to mistake a party for a working meeting?
Also, a party at your work is a ‘work event’.
no paper, no laptops, glass of wine, plate of cheese def why I hate mondays
“Operation Save Big Dog” going well… by making him look like a fucking idiot that didn’t realise he was at a party…
Well then he’s absolutely thick as shit and shouldn’t be in charge of of running a country.
Nadhim Zahawi is an asset to the government. He will literally say any old shit they tell him to regardless of how fucking stupid it sounds.
Then again, my dad gave me the ol’ “Boris didn’t know these parties were happening” bollocks the other day, so perhaps Zahawi actually believes what he is saying?
There is a slim chance that he is actually a COMPLETE moron with no idea what he ever does, just being manipulated by another egregious overlord.
I wouldn’t be surprised anymore, this dystopia is boring.
This Nadhim guy is doing himself no favours here, idiot

[Of course he defends the indefensible](https://web.archive.org/web/20150204081838/http://www.stratford-herald.com/1893-stratford-mp-explains-his-170000-expenses.html).
something really, really wrong going on…
