Is it really deflation or were they just lying about all their economic indicators for decades?
I bet they are lying.
Deflation is a slow death for an economy. This happened to Japan as well and it took them 3 decades to get out of it.
“Industrial overcapacity and real estate recession”
… so far. I wouldn’t assume that other economies including the US will in some areas see a deflationary effect.
It will hit the US soon enough. I’m guessing by November 2024.
If China starts to get its economy back on line, watch the prices of gas and oil move markedly higher .
Then what ? Another inflation move to the upside. Watch out world markets.
If China continues to struggle…. Watch out Taiwan . Nothing like a war to kickstart an economy .
