Would banning private planes tank the economy?

I was under the influence 🍃 and made a throwaway comment on this post about a(mother) private plane crash saying “ban private planes” and this person suggested that would cause a recession 20x greater than the Great Depression and 5x as long. Please tell me this can’t be true lol
