  1. Mix of media coverage, drone footage and first-person combat footage from both sides of the battle.

On 24 February, 2022. The invasion began, Russian imperialists and DPR forces quickly turned their attention to, bombed and surrounded the port city of Mariupol. They did not allow Red Cross to set up humanitarian zones, which left thousands of civilians trapped in the war zone.

The siege began on 24 February 2022 and lasted until 20 May, as part of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. It saw fighting between the Russian Armed Forces (alongside the Donetsk People’s Militia) and the Ukrainian Armed Forces along with the volunteer Azov Battalion for control over Mariupol.

It’s estimated that more than 25,000+ civilians were killed in this single battle, and there’s tons of evidence of Russia forcibly transferred thousands of Ukrainian children to areas under its control, assigned them Russian citizenship, forcibly adopted them into Russian families, and created obstacles for their reunification with their parents and homeland. Some estimates say more than 50.000 people were deported.
