  1. That’ll teach those…*checks notes*

    >The Rubymar’s Beirut-based manager could not be immediately reached for comment.

    …Lebanese.

  2. They were such good rebels. They ain’t do nothing wrong except try to free Palestine!

  3. >Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, the prime minister of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, called the ship’s sinking “an unprecedented environmental disaster.”

    >“It’s a new disaster for our country and our people,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Every day, we pay for the Houthi militia’s adventures, which were not stopped at plunging Yemen into the coup disaster and war.””

Whaaaat? He’s not a fan of Luffy? But Hasan Piker said…Well shit, I guess if one burning mentally ill American wasn’t enough, we now have to burn a whole ecosystem in the name of Palestine!

  4. If it had not been for the big conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza sector, many nations and stakeholders using the Red Sea might’ve perfectly destroyed Houthi’s military base and related cities in Yemen. The sly Islamic rebels know how to scratch Western nations’ nerves.

  5. I know there is a great deal of concern about the cargo impact on the environment. It was just last year that tens of millions of dollars was raised to empty out in abandoned oil tanker with over 1,000,000 barrels of oil to prevent an environmental catastrophe.

I’m not sure if the tanker is in the same area, but it was stated that it was located in the Red Sea. This world is so screwed up.

So my thought is if there is a cleanup effort that’s needed Iran can pay for it. The Houthi rebels spent tens of millions of dollars in military money. They can just allocate a little bit to clean up the environment.

I know Yemen is in the middle of a horrible Civil War, so I’m not sure where the ship lies between the warning two parties.

It’s just a thought ahead this morning

  6. And just like that- the masses on Instagram posted a victory message in support of the Houthi’s brave fight against the evil Israeli oppressors.

  7. This is getting real old real quickly.

The Houthis require to be seriously addressed and taken out already!

  8. All fun and games until they accidentally cross the line.

    Then it’s begging for ceasefire.

  9. So … they sinked a ship of an ally and ruined their coast… … …

  10. They don’t even know who they are attacking most of the time.

  11. I don’t get geopolitics at all. The Saudis have been fighting the Iran-backed Houthis.

    Iran is supporting Russia’s war.

Saudi Arabia is supporting Russian oil prices by cutting production.

So why doesnt Saudi Arabia do the right thing and not prop up Russian oil prices, so that the regime collapses quicker and takes Iran along with it?

  12. This situation is a very good moment to uncouple European economies from a lot of reliance on goods from the east. Seeing that no other countries from the east, nor countries like Egypt want to get involved in the red Sea, I hope Europe uses this situation as an opportunity to near shore as much as possible, and maybe look for more trading partners in the west.

  13. They apparently didn’t know Houthi were sinking. Oops…

  14. Omfg these terrorists fuckers are becoming a real problem.

  15. I was a little bummed reading the headline but glad to see we let this attack fly upon seeing the article. Imagine if they were a competent fighting force.

  16. Yemen, the success story of the Arab Spring. Who remembers this?

  17. They’re working on getting someone to turn Yemen into Yemen’t.

  18. Will the US now start directly bombing Houthi fighters? Or will we continue to bomb their “weapons”.

  19. I’d assume that some missiles/drones are not expensively shot down if they endanger non-allied ship.

  20. I can’t wait for their corny-ass spokesman to scream into the mic, per usual.

  21. Damn it, this is why gas jumped $.49 per gallon?

DAMN YOU, HOUTHIS WHO WERE TRAINED BY HAMAS, WHILST SHELTERED & SUPPLIED BY IRAN.

  22. I’ll be seeing what Sal Mercogliano makes of this on his “What’s going on with shipping?”. (A fun YouTube shipping industry commentator…) He’s already done a show on this and predicted the imminent sinking of that ship, fascinating footage of it down in the stern.

  23. Carrying fuel oil from Iran to Yemen… I don’t think Iran will LOVE this.

Iran: “Your failures as a son…are my failures as a father”

  24. Maybe this is a dumb question but why don’t these ships have like mercenaries or some kind of armed security on them? I guess I probably answered my own question. There’d just be more bullets flying.

  25. Damn I thought Houthi only attacked ships that carry weapons to Israel? So does this mean Lebanon is on Israel’s side all this time?

  26. Really getting homer simpson “It’s my first day” vibes with these guys.

  27. Any casualties? Nothing in the article talking about the sailors who are actually in the firing line.

  28. People who repeat Iranian propaganda will still say the Houthis only target US, UK, and Israeli ships. That has never been true, and this ship had a Belize flag.

  29. A helpless merchant ship. That’s like hunting turtles with a rifle.
