It’s Severndroog Castle on top of Shooters Hill Rd, between Greenwich, Blackheath and Eltham. It’s surrounded by a beautiful wood, still a bit muddy but it will change soon with the dry season (hopefully we will get a dry season this year).
Took these photos today walking with my dog. It seems they will host a farmer/producer market tomorrow.

Strictly speaking, that’s a folly, not a castle
Have been there yes. It’s on the Capital Ring IIRC. I liked it. Had a cuppa as well.
Have you been to the top? The views are amazing! You can even see Windsor Castle with binoculars. (They have binoculars up there to use)
They sometimes have events there too. Music and such. It’s lovely to walk around Oxleas wood too.
Have a look at Eltham Palace too. Not that far away from there. Nice grounds, especially in the spring and summer months. Pretty impressive art deco building and still has the great hall from when it was a royal residence.
handy little cafe inside
Wow !!
Can’t wait to see Mel Brookes on Sunday.
I’ve always preferred the old water tower on the hill.
That’s just around the corner from me but I’ve never been. Worth going?
Go to the top during autumn on a clear day, probably the most beautiful sight in London
Nice to know, thanks 😃
Used to live 10 minutes walk from this for about 5 years but never went. It’s amazing how much we neglect that’s on our doorstep. I’ve done/seen more of London since I moved up north.
>between Greenwich, Blackheath and Eltham
Welling and Plumstead getting left out as usual 🙁
Isn’t that the weird triangular thing? If so, I do know it, from my maths exam.
