“One of the most painful choices for me on this one was Thufir Hawat,” Villeneuve admits. “He’s a character I absolutely love, but I decided right at the beginning that I was making a Bene Gesserit adaptation. That meant that Mentats are not as present as they should be, but it’s the nature of the adaptation.”
Dang that’s a bummer and a shame that we won’t see more Stephen McKinley Henderson who’s a monster in everything he does.
But I get it
If I recall, in the book, Leto admits to Paul that they’ve been training him over time to eventually become a mentat.
I know how has said he doesn’t like directors cuts, but I feel part 2 really needs an extended edition. It’s already long but parts felt so rushed still.
Lame af, loved mentats in the book
I was wondering where he was. I love that actor, it was maybe my only disappointment in pt2
