  1. Because his wife abused it and would continue to do so if she had not been caught out by it. He is also friends with people who claim to be non-doms and will not want to annoy the media barons, such as Lord Rothermere or Rupert Murdoch, who claim non-dom status for no good reason.

  2. The non-doms are already leaving to Italy and taking their money with them.

  3. Every European nation offers a tax scheme that allows foreigners to pay taxes only on income earned within the country or brought into it. Eliminating this system would likely result in a mass departure of wealthy individuals from the UK, taking their wealth and job opportunities with them. It’s crucial for the UK to maintain its competitive edge.

    Though how the fuck the prime minister’s wife can be considered a temporary non-domiciled resident is beyond my understanding. Clearly, there’s a need for stricter regulations.
