My local pub has these table markings and my partner and I can’t figure out what might have caused them. Does anyone have any ideas? I wanted to tap into the Reddit wisdom. Our current theories are: ink pots, coins. Quite rogue and likely very incorrect.

Water rings from glasses running with condensation or hot cups will do this to wood.
I think that table has been [distressed](https://www.instructables.com/9-Easy-Ways-to-Distress-Wood/) to make it look “antique” – someone has smacked it a bunch of times with a hammer.
Damp chair legs repeatedly stored on top of the table will do this.
Shots, usually contain high % alcohol.
