  1. Stimulating economic growth through sensible tax policies has actually been proved to work very well, put it this way the UK wouldn’t be in recession if corporation tax hasn’t been raised to 25% back in October 2022

But doing this just before an election definitely won’t work because the conservative put it up in the first place!

  2. It’s all about salting the earth for labour, they don’t care about the economy, the country or its people only how they can hurt everyone

  3. More reactionary economic policy from the Tories.

Their current tagline is Labour has no plan, but can anyone name anything this government of 14 years has actually delivered?

All they know is cutting public services and look at the state we’re in, it’s time we try something different.

  4. That smug face says it all. Dosent give an actual fuck. What are his actual credentials to be the chancellor anyway??

  5. I doubt he’ll care. It’s their last chance to fuck us over in favour of the rich.

  6. Tax cuts so you’ll have more money to spend on the services you need.

My family abroad have better lives because they have access to better services. Better transport, better healthcare, better education….

I earn significantly more money than my relative in Germany who is a carer. But her life is better, she has more disposable income, more safe and secure housing, access to healthcare, subsidised childcare, and cheap and dependable transportation.

Last year I had to spend 2500 quid to get my child speech therapy, something the NHS should provide( still on the waiting list, had no choice but to pay).

Hubby is having to do driving lessons as we can’t depend on local public transport.

    The list goes on.

  7. Oh look, another once in a lifetime economic crash coming.

Think I’m on my 3rd? 4th? By now.

  8. Tories: Tax and spending cuts backfiring? When did that ever happen?

Well, remember how Hunt became Chancellor?

  9. Truss sabotaged the country, and was thrown out, because she pursued a crazy, tax cutting agenda, in an economic situation that simply wouldn’t support it. Even Rishi Sunak warned her that it would be a disaster, and we’re all still suffering from the consequences of her stupidity.
And yet they’re determined to do it again FFS!
These people need to be kicked out now. They make Donald Trump look sane!

  10. That’s the plan, they want the economy in free fall before Labour win in May

  11. Let’s not forget the go ahead has been given to councils to increase tax by 4.99% to cover the crisis facing councils… whilst the Tories talk about tax cuts in the run up to the election.

They are championing tax cuts and are aiming to push blame to local councils (whilst having presided over huge cuts in central government funding for councils).

    Cunts.

  12. This whole ‘cutting public spending’ is an absolute nonsense because they then just bring private companies in to fill in the gaps for 3 times the cost. It’s becoming a joke at this point.

  13. All these warnings seem to be based on the idea Jeremy Hunt is going to heed those warnings….

  14. Totally baffles me why anyone would vote Tory at the next election, there is absolutely no good reason to at all.

  15. No shit? It’s what truss did and look how that turned out
