8. Going by the account someone posted elsewhere, the fight was sparked by the man queued behind the other being served first (for whatever reason). 

   Things escalated from that point resulting in the above. Perhaps the man behind was a regular who’d phoned and ordered in advance or the establishment operated some sort of ‘regulars or locals given preference’ policy.
