  1. You can’t gaslight people into thinking Biden’s economy has been better than Trump.

Americans see the inflation; they feel the impact of 23 striaght months of negative real wage growth. They see the tent cities, and migrant camps.

Biden has been a disaster, and his handlers want YOU to ignore his failures. Worse, they want you to disbelieve your own eyes

  2. The economy under Trump was slightly better than today. Not for his merit, he simply benefited from the huge economy recovery trend that the US had been following since 2010. In Q4 2019 unemployment was around 3.7-3.9%, identical to today. I remember the gDP growth was positive but nothing special. The huge difference was inflation, that at the time was around 1.5% or so. I don’t like the Dems but I can’t see how you blame Biden only for inflation . It’s a phenomenon that occurred in the whole world.

  3. >Voters recall the economy under Trump more fondly than they rate the economy now.

    A 13% difference, that’s significant.

There’s a reason for this, and it’s simple, it’s because the economy *was* good, maybe even very good, certainly much better than what we’re living now, under “Build Back Better.”

  4. Haha. We’re doomed!

Did they forget about all his Ls at civil trials due to fraud ?! 😂

  5. It’s wild that not a lot of people take into consideration that the ‘boom of Trump’s economy (i.e. the first three years before COVID did its thing)’ didn’t outpace Obamas final three years by any significant measure.

The last three years under Obama GDP grew by an annual rate of 2.5% – under Trump’s first 3, it was 2.6.

Trump added 6.1m jobs in his first 3, Obama added 8.1 in his final 3.

Trump’s first 3 years added 1.27m blue collar construction and manufacturing jobs, Obama added 1.13 in his last.

Obama’s last 3 years median income grew by 8.4% to Trump’s 7.8% in his first 3.

The one area where Trump whomped Obama is in the stock markets, Trump doubled obamas performance in the S&P 500 index – The only group of people that saw that affect their daily lives was the fringes of the upper middle class and beyond.

Simply put, Trump inherited an economy already on fire, and yes, he kept the car on the road, which is commendable – the idea that Trump is some sort of economic savant that transformed the lives of your avg American is lunacy. Him trying to take sole credit for a booming American economy is disingenuous.

  6. Biden and congress spent the last 4 years favoring corporations and Wall Street through massive fiscal spending. This fueled inflation, kept housing unaffordable, and widened the wealth gap by sending the stock market to soaring new heights.

I’m no fan of Trump, in fact he’s horrible and he will also favor special interests over the average American. But Biden let the status quo economy fester over his tenure, and average Americans are worse off for it. Good chance Trump will win because of it.

  7. The incumbent always argues the glass half full schtick. Especially nowadays. Politics is so embedded in American psyche that it overrides critical thinking and facts.

My example from my boots on the ground position is… The Left currently saying the economy is great since unemployment is low and GDP is positive…. Is like saying a Ford Pinto is a good car because it happens to be driving down the road at the moment.

  8. It’s be cool if the people that each candidate was going to appoint to run major departments were required to be named so we could question them and have them debate. Seems important.

  9. Because he took over after Obama. Obama had already stabilized the country after 2008 and the mess the Republican Party caused. But, Biden hasn’t done a great job either. Too many handouts and people thinking they are entities to get free money from the government. Fuck that, get your lazy as up and work!!! Ohhhh but they won’t work unless it’s over 30$ an hour……

  10. The man left office with fewer Americans employed than when he entered. Americans are blithering morons

  11. Does the President *really* have that much control over the economy? Giving absolute credit or blame to one guy sitting in the oval office seems naive at best.

  12. Our choices for President are a clown game show host and a corrupt puppet with advanced dementia.

    We deserve our fate.

  13. The poll is measured equally by gender, age, race, and education, but NOT by political affiliation. I’m willing to wager the sources of this poll lean heavily to the right.
