>*A significant fraction of those who voted in the first three GOP nominating contests say they will never vote for him in the general election. According to the analysis of Republican voters, 2 in 10 Iowa voters, 1 in 3 New Hampshire voters, and one quarter of South Carolina voters said they would not vote for Trump.*
Ok but general election polls say he’s winning big among Gen Z, Black voters, Hispanics, and educated suburban women, so do we believe actual election results or do we believe impossible to believe hypothetical polls?
Of course I’ve also been known to be extremely sarcastic, so don’t stress too much about actually answering that
But they are all going to vote for him because that’s what Republicans do. They have been indoctrinated since they were children to believe that the worst Republican is still better than the best Democrat. Or in Evangelical infested areas, R = Righteous, and D = Demonic.
a large percentage of the world cannot stomach Trump.
like, 99%
Title is misleading and flips back to reality in the 2nd paragraph…
“According to the analysis of Republican voters, 2 in 10 Iowa voters, 1 in 3 New Hampshire voters, and one quarter of South Carolina voters said they would not vote for Trump. While those numbers aren’t huge”
The added commentary of “**Trump needs every last vote to do better than he did in 2020 when—as he often denies—he lost to Joe Biden**.” is pure speculation on Choma’s part.
2020 saw ‘covid voting provisions’ and that ALONE is the only reason why Biden beat Trump by 44K votes across 3 states, especially Pennsylvania.
In Iowa, NH, SC we have Democratic voters crossing the aisle and obviously those primary voters aren’t going to EVER cast for Trump in the GE and that must be factored into the AP findings if we want to keep things ‘**real**’ and not fall prey to 2016’s painting the roses red.
And yet they stay complict and silent. So what? Doing nothing is worse than actually doing it.
You support it with silence. Simple as that. They support Trump whether they do or not just on the fact they say nothing.
But will they support Biden or sit out the general election? My guess is they will get in line and vote Trump in November.
If you’re a sane Republican the only way you dump tRump is to vote him out. Remember, once you step into that voting booth, no one will ever know what box you marked. If you vote for him, you are the problem.
But they will all support him when it comes to a general election. Their identity is trump. They can’t stomach who they are as a person but they won’t turn their back on themselves. All republicans will.
Yeah right.
The party alreasy sold its soul to the devil and the antichrist
Same with Biden
Yet they are still going to vote for him.
Bullshit. GOP voters have options, it’s just that none of them are the same flavor of racism, anger, a whininess, an laziness that they crave in Trump.
Not large enough
REALLY?!
What was it that did it for them? Asking for a friend….
So vote for Nikky.
Assume that you won’t win the Presidency for the next election (but maybe Nikky can pull it off), but at least put Trump away from election.
If he’s not elected he’ll wither and the GOP can think of a better stronger candidate for the future.
They can’t stomach him but they keep watching FOX every evening out of habit. They will be brought back into line before the election.
My great fear is that he legitimately wins and it boils down to younger leftists taking an anybody-but-Biden approach because of the Israel-Palestine conflict- which we technically have little to no hand in and which Biden nor any PODUS could control- and just enough traditional GOP voters holding their noses and thinking there is no way all this chatter and yelling from the mountaintops about a Christo-Fascist slow burn coup is real and that it’ll just be a traditional GOP executive and then we will vote again like usual in four years and Trump will retire like any 82 year old U.S. president would at the end of their second term…
I don’t know how they get it through enough people and that enough people worry enough to understand that actual democracy is at stake. I hope that’s what happens- that people hold their noses and vote blue and we muddle through another four years and then keep going through another reasonably sincere election cycle for PODUS, etc. in 2028, but… the likelihood of democracy as usual feels less and less guaranteed or likely.
Trump has been consistently losing 30-40% of the vote. Those are the folks that can’t stomach him. Unfortunately, even though they won’t stomach him in the primary, they’ll gladly swallow it down and vote for him without question in the general.
He’s been winning the primaries, but many with just over half the votes cast. He’s… very unpopular.
Yeah, I hate stuff like this. They can’t stand him but they sure as fuck vote R anyway.
Could you imagine if Democrats backed a poor black gay trans woman that took any opportunity to insult the other political party and insisted something like immigrants are *more American* than typical Americans for fucking 8 years?
Because that’s what Republicans did with Trump.
This division we’re currently seeing is y’all backed one of the worst horses imaginable and for what….just to make liberals mad….tell me anything more stereotypically fucking American than that.
We’ve reached a point where a man sets himself on fire and he’s laughed about within minutes. Doesn’t even take a day or two to joke anymore. Bunch of sociopaths in the GOP and that’s a fact.
But will vote for it
Large percent? You mean like 5%
>The AP report did find, however, that just because those voters said they didn’t want to vote for Trump—ever—it didn’t mean they were Biden voters.
I think we need to keep this in mind.
I don’t believe you. Every republican I’ve ever met loves this insane lunatic.
And yet the majority will bend the knee and kiss the ring anyway.
I’ll believe the “I’ll never vote for Trump” conservative crowd on election day. Just like the last two elections, only a small number of them follow through. The rest come up with a convenient excuse to throw away their principles so long as it means beating team blue.
If you wear your tie low enough it can cover your stomach and make you look lean. Just ask Donald Trump
Honestly, my parents, both hardcore conservatives who voted for Trump twice, say they’re gonna vote for RFK JR, they say trumps mouth messed up actually getting anything accomplished. I agreed, they should vote for RFK jr.
I’m sure a lot of conscientious conservative Germans couldn’t stomach Hitler but voted for him anyway, when voting was still possible. They probably wrung their hands in concern and stuff and then did whatever the hell Hitler wanted just like Susan Collins.
But will still vote for him…
But they’ll vote for him in the general all the same. So who the fuck cares.
This is very true. I am happy that Haley is showing that even if she had no chance. It’s somewhere around 1/3 of Republicans who are voting for Trump.
Many others left the party or just aren’t voting.
Check out Kennedy
They would gladly stomach a gallon of his knuckle children in a heartbeat.
Yet they line up to suck him off!
But for some odd reason will vote for him anyway….
The maybe stop voting for him.
I will not be voting for him.
“A Large Percentage of Republican Primary Voters Can’t Stomach Trump”
That is totally understandable.
They will still vote republican no matter what
Bullshit, a large percentage will vote for him without hesitation.
They just can’t stand that he says the silent part out loud, and that he does a poor job in the process. They don’t like being exposed as the Nazi party.
Ultimately, their values are the same.
…and yet they’ll vote for him because, what? Because voting for a criminal authoritarian is better than voting for a democrat? JFC 🤦♂️
It’s ironic they once called themselves the moral majority, and now they are willing to let someone who is a convicted rapist be their leader. It’s made being a bad person ok.
I Soooo hope this is true! It would go really far in restoring my faith in the American public, which at this point is close to nonexistent.
