  1. Tough times for those of us trying our best to not believe that taxation is theft*

*in this case, the 100th case of theft from the older generations at the expense of the youth

  2. To my fellow millenials/gen-zers : this is what you get for staying home on voting day. Retirees have plenty of free time and never skip a vote, and neither should you.

Participation was below 60% but above the usual 50-ish percent. In my opinion, it means that boomers turned out in bigger numbers than usual for this, while a fair share of young people skipped this vote, as per usual.

This 13th AHV/AVS salary was painted as a desperate need, even though most beneficiaries won’t actually need it. This was clearly underlined by both the Federal Council and the Parliament. And we have special helps for people who cannot make it with the basic allowances. We are not like some other European countries where a portion of retirees is forced to live on the streets (yes, this is really a thing in countries like Belgium, where rent in cities can easily cost between 50 and 75 percent of your income).

Also, when do we finally let minors vote? Because I don’t see any reason why minors shouldn’t get to vote, especially on such things. This affects their future too.

Swiss baby boomers just got a juicy bonus today, at the expense of a generation that will likely struggle to ever own a home.

EDIT: This is as good a time as ever to talk about a [tax on land](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_value_tax), something we should all agree would be a great way to counteract the greed of the landlord class, which is pillaging working families to fuel its fancy retirement lifestyle.

  3. this would be a good idea for people who are below a poverty line. i mean being a retired, sickly and poor person is really a shitshow. why do the millionaires also get the 13th?

  4. Finally something for the people and not for the banks.
