>Heather Gay is calling BS on all the talk about body positivity — flat out saying, “It is better not to be overweight.”
“…society loves you more when you’re in better shape.”
I’m sorry she thinks that’s what love is.
if you had the choice to be hot and fit I’d wager 99% of people would take that option. Body Positivity is generally just a version of “jesus take the wheel”
Well her whole business is based on beauty attainment whatever that means or how its defined.
For once I can believe her.
Body positivity is a great thing, if you’re healthy.
The two aren’t one in the same.
0-0-0-zempic!!! 💅 💇🏾♀️
Body positivity was supposed to remind us all that we are not all gifted with good genetics that allows us to burn off calories and develop muscles as quickly as others. We don’t have the same amount of resources and time as compared to professionals with professional trainers, cooks, and dieticians. It’s also reminding us to be kind to those with injuries, burns, amputations…etc that may not be considered “beautiful” by traditional standards but still deserving of kindness and love.
Instead, it was hijacked by a vocal few on social media that tried to flip the script and make obesity something to be freely accepted or even modeled after. They were even trying to target the medical field and try to convince people that obesity has no effect on health or quality of life.
It’s just bizarre at this point.
She’s being an uppity little bitch about it but she’s not wrong.
If people are overweight and happy with themselves, hey more power to you but don’t come out here with your brain on Airplane Mode saying dumb shit in public like “We Healthy!” and expect not to get corrected.
Media saying “be body positive” while all the camera-facing celebrities get plastic surgery and are all good looking.
I understand what she’s trying to say. The reality is that being thin as a woman will affect everything about your life outcomes from employment to even who you can date or marry. It’s not some joke and no coping will ever change this. I’m pro calory deficit, good nutrition, good sleep and regular exercise though
Isn’t this drug intended for diabetics to control their very real disease?
This person didn’t needed medication, she was not overweigh, she just didn’t liked her appearance. body positivity is not a lie, her body was healthy, she just couldn’t love it.
Obese people are not exerting body positivity, some will use the discourse to justify their state, but most importantly, people will point to obese people and blame body positivity for condition.
She’s right, and she’s hot. She can say what she wants.
