Context: I went to Norway to document the reindeer slaughter for a book I’m writing on dead animals. I only ended up seeing two reindeer butchered, but it was an interesting experience anyway. (PS, butchering reindeer is pretty much the same as the pigs and cattle I’ve seen butchered in the US, animal welfare-wise. You don’t have to like it but don’t think these photos are some kind of gotcha.)
