There’s a lot of ‘grass roots’ Conservatives like this guy who were disgusted by Boris and Brexit. I work with a lot of Councillors in a very Conservative area and they all speak the same. I personally don’t agree with Conservatism (at all). But they come from an era where you could respect their point of view and they could respect yours, because ultimately you both wanted what (you believe) was best for the U.K.
It’s interesting sitting at a Table full of stuffy old men in Tweed and Suits, all calling Boris a cunt.
It’s interesting that if the Labour Party didn’t have Corbyn and had someone more moderate, many would have switched over or abstained. Although I don’t doubt it would have changed the result as they were replaced by working class people backing Brexit. It is interesting how a lot of the traditional Tories despise him and his populist brand of politics.
… And yet they still voted for him in 2019, when it was pretty clear what he was like. Party over country as always.

Well yeah, isn’t ‘Conservativism’ : ‘don’t change much’ kinda *’conserve the status quo’*, not drive the country off a cliff into the fucking floor whilst stealing everything on the way down?
That’s weird, Johnson is as Tory as any other Tory. Not sure why Tories are thinking there’s something else going on, he is exactly what the party believes in.
