‘Utopian fantasy’: Hungary’s Orban dismisses EU climate policy plans

  1. So what is he going to do? He’s at least one of the few right-wing populists to accept climate change as a fact. But that alone doesn’t solve anything

  2. Do i understand that cookie notice properly? If i click the allow all button it will allow the cookies, if i scroll all the way down and click reject all it (and dont change the sliders) it will still accept all because by default every setting is off, so if i want the cookies off i have to click confirm my choices?

  3. it is socialist agenda by pig george soros, he farts from his socialist castle and increases CO2 PPM

    – unironically this is what oban would totally say

  4. Or also a peaceful, non-violent (and morally acceptable) option not to be forced dealing with half of africa moving north. I think we can deal with current numbers (some millions), but not the *whole continent* turning un-inhabitable (unviable?) within decades. Orban is well known to be super racist (esp against africans) so you’d think it’d come to his mind. We’re looking at a billion or two people moving without a climate change course correction. So, yeah. The infra wouldn’t like it.

They’re at the equator, the overheating area, and there is nothing inhabitable south of them for now (tho in 20y antarctica* might turn into a free for all as countries feel it’s up for grab too without any great power defending it like their home territory. Also if there is anything usefull, even mineral ressources under the ice, it might turn up and attract great powers’)..

Also the agriculture system risks collapsing in europe within the same timeframe.

It’s not utopia, it’s a survival necessity at that point.

*untouched empty continent on earth the size of north america full of untouched ressources sinces times immemorials, with no serious unchallengeable land claims by any country, almost no population (<0.5 million the entire continent) minus a few scientific bases and some odd isles around it, and turning into a potentially temperate/coldish climate within decades ? It’s bound to create crazy jalousies and wars. It’s borders will be redrawn soon there. Brits might defend some islands, US mcmurdo, a few more countries (europe, russia, china, india, …) their scientific stations and outposts, but that’s it. Empty, sitting there, defenceless, without millions of natives to feel oppressed and waiting for the taking. Also unlike up there by default, there’s air.
