Too right and hopefully more of this happens. None of these absolute tragedies should ever be mocked.
Now let’s see some charges brought for the Hillsborough and Munich chants every week and hopefully it will stop these absolute cavemen from thinking it’s okay.
Clubs can rightly ban whoever they want from their stadiums, but *arresting* people for causing offence is concerning.
These are the same vague laws (causing ‘alarm and distress’) that allowed police to arrest the monarchy protestors for simply holding up a sign.

Seems like there must be more worthwhile uses of scarce police resources to be frank.
Some people are saying waste of resources, others are saying ‘freedom of speech.’
Sorry, but football has a huge culture problem and these disgusting fans need to be dealt with. They obviously don’t know how to behave in society and are probably the same ones shouting racist shit and making monkey noises when a dark skinned player is taking corners. Imagine taking your kid to a game and people are behaving like this. It’s disgusting behaviour from so called ‘adults’.
Arrest them for sure, they’re bad for society and are the exact people causing violence around football matches.
If you’re not from the UK, I don’t care what your country’s laws on this are. They’re completely irrelevant here.
Good, fuck him. If you’re going to football fans just to spout this shite you’re a cretin.
It’s to be expected from man city fans tbh now. Every chance they get, they’re mocking the dead.
Why are some people so utterly vile? I’ll never understand such mindsets.
I bloody hate the tragedy and poverty chants we get but it’s a dangerous precedent for free speech. I mean you see literal nonces and terrorists get off the hook and then someone who is just a bit of a dick gets the full force of the law because of some words that a lot of people were saying while many pints deep. Too authoritarian and 1984 for my liking.
City fans have got so many reasons to feel superior, why bother stooping to this lol
What the fuck is up with a bunch of gooners defending this wanker in this thread? We still have the worst fucking youth in London innit, edgelords thinking they’re tough when talking shite but crying like little cunts why there was consequences when they got smacked for it.
Bloke next to me at Arsenal Liverpool was chanting about Hillsborough. We were the opposite end of the ground to the away fans so not a single LFC fan would have heard him.
FWIW the chants were more than “always the victims” ones which I don’t have a major issue with.
Bizarre.
I wanted to report him but I was at the game on my own as I would be banking on others backing me up and it would have ruined the game for me. I’m pretty selfish 🤷♂️
Clubs really need to make it easier to report people for these issues.
Why would Pep do this?
A podcast I listened to suggested that LFC (and Utd I guess) adopt a “fuck you” policy to tragedy chanting. Basically any away end starts singing “sign on” “always the victims” or about Hillsborough or Munich or Heysel or whatever, LFC/MUFC should give that club 0 away tickets next season, sell it as a home fans only fixture and eat the fine from the FA. Because the authorities do fuck all, the media ignores it, nothing gets done.
Also a good point made from a LFC point of view, that tragedy chanting was only existing on a very small scale until recently, and seen during MUFC vs LFC or Everton vs LFC matches only, whereas its now every single week, there this week Nottingham Forest fans were at it, Brentford do it, everyone does it every week. That did not happen in the 90s or 00s its only been since Liverpool got good.
Which is truly, truly pathetic
And if this City fan knew their own history, they’d know that among those who died in the Munich Air Disaster was Frank Swift, a former Manchester City goal keeper, turned journalist.
But why would they?
These chants are awful, but if you’re a UK citizen, you need to seriously evaluate how low the bar is currently to get arrested for the things you say. History shows how quickly that can turn to arrests for disagreeing with policy, not just chanting mean things about dead people.

Cheating, scummy club, nothing else to say.
