[WhoScored.com] (Inter target) Michele Di Gregorio is the highest rated goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues this season (7.07). The 26-year-old also posts a 75.6% save success rate (4th-best in Serie A) and has helped Monza to overperform their xGA by 9.68 (2nd-most in Serie A).

  1. One thing I read that makes it seem like we’re pretty serious about having Greg as our vice Sommer.

We sent Handa to watch him vs. Roma, only to take in 4 goals in the game. Bad report back, right? Nope. From what I read, Handa was v. impressed by him, and reported back that none of the goals were his fault, and that he prevented the score from being even more lopsided. It was only after this that I read about Oristanio being in a deal etc.

Now, for me, that’s Inter being wishful and hoping Monza take him (got no use for us), rather than some more talented young guy (Akinsanmiro, Pio etc.). Do keep in mind, Galliani (and the Monza team) scout their players excemtionally. I know this from his admission that he pestered Inter for a “buy” option on Carboni (with the usual “buy back” clause), but we refused. This gave me the confidence that we were certain of Faroni’s talent, and also showed how much Monza scout the youth teams.

Anyways, apart from his goalkeeping, he is also our youth product. Him, alongside Dimarco will bode exceptionally well in the CL lists.
