They didn’t come out and say it, but it looks like he was fired or told to resign.
> Juventus Football Club announces that an agreement has been reached with Coach Joe Montemurro who, as of today, will no longer hold the position of coach of the Juventus Women’s First Team… The technical leadership of the Women’s First Team is temporarily entrusted to assistant coach Giuseppe Zappella.
Best decision they could have made for the Women team, along with Braghin’s renewal until 2027 (it was announced minutes after the press release about Montemurro).
The first year under Joe was exceptional, but the last two seasons have been horrible. And there are a lot of rumours on issues he had with current/former players (Sembrant left for Bayern when she had barely six months left of her career, Girelle was benched for months despite a goal-drought, Bonfantini unceremoniously shipped to Sampdoria, etc).
The season won’t be saved, probably, but at least Juve is showing its commitment to the women team by not being afraid of firing a manager that is just not working well anymore.
