They literally got a guy working two part-time jobs calling this amazing because he will have 1 extra loaf of bread a day. This is just sad.
Jeremy Hunt is known across the U.K. as a compassionate & kind man, he’s exceeded hinself this time…
Is this the same 30p a day that Lee Anderson thinks we can all survive on?
And we are the 5th? 6th? Richest country in the world? Lucky us.
30p is the price of a Freddo. Time to buy stocks in Cadbury!
Edit: I am wrong. A Freddo is now 50p! I guess the poors can limit their Freddo intake to 4 a week.
It’s ok Tesco and the other supermarket brands will raise their price to make up for this
Hey, don’t turn your nose up at 30p! That’s an ice lolly!
…in 1997.
We are so lucky 30 p extra a day 🙄and how much was it again that council tax , road tax , petrol , insurance , food , rent had gone up 🤔not sure but I am sure 30p a day should cover it yeah 🫣 ffs
What I don’t get is how it’s meant to save self employed workers the £350 they state.
I pay zero NI for me and £468 in employers NIC
The funniest thing to me ATM, is that though I intensely dislike the Tories and Jeremy *unt, fiscal policies have actually been quite sensible and middle of the line but it just comes across as sabotage lol
As with all tax cuts funded by depriving those most in need, if you can afford to please consider supporting your local foodbank.
Was the message sprayed on his office before or after this choice comment?
Oh wow, £109.50 a year! That’s like 2 whole days of free heating! Are you going to shit in a cup and tell me its chocolate as well, Mr. Cunt?
Biggest help would be to raise the tax free allowance, however, again the typical rich person will benefit more (unless they are over the tax allowance tapering hurdle, currently 100k to 125k)
I mean, it’s worse than that. The very poorest in society will get NO benefit AT ALL from this change. (Got to be paying NI to benefit). That is OUTRAGEOUS. As ever, Tory grandiloquence are focused on the richest in society ie NI payers.
30p a day, such a massive help, can now book that tropical holiday
Finally I can afford a daily boiled egg! Thank you sooooooo much.
If on UC and working you’ll lose 55p in the £, so that 30p is now worth 17p at best.
Well, according to Lee Anderson, that’s a whole extra meal!
It’s an obvious joke, I know.
IT’S FINALLY 30p LEE’S TIME TO SHINE!
(Like a polished dog turd)
It’s something like £30 extra for me a month.
It doesn’t even cover my transport to work for a week.
By the time labour come into power they’ll have to raise taxes anyway. None of us are getting any better off any time soon.
In other news all UK residents will now be required to make a compulsory donation of 31p per day to the Conservative party.
This starey eyed cunt needs to be keel hauled for this cheeky comment.
Don’t worry Jeremy, the landlords and supermarkets will all raise their prices again to get their hands on that extra 30p.
I understand the sentiment of the article I and fully agree the poorest should get more relief. That’s a given. But, you cannot penalise or forget the people earning a “decent” wage, who also work just as hard, and just do just as many paid hours as poorest workers because this group of people between 30k and 60k are the biggest contributors to the system that we are ALL apart of.
So whilst the focus has been on the poorest demographic on between on between £0-15k, iro tax cuts, benefits and tax relief, who are by far (I imagine?) the largest part of society by now (and if they are not, I’m surprised they aren’t based on how much damage Conservatives have damaged the fabric of our society), some relief above that is just as welcome, if not more. Sorry for the hefty sentence. I really should use fullstops more!
Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be voting for the monkies that are rubbing this country, even if they give me 50% tax cut. Because taxes have to be paid to protect the vulnerable. They’ve done too little too much. One last thought, which insults me more than Lee Anderson’s face, which constantly reminds me of a rhino’s ball sack, is the fact Tories have made over 200% more changes to law, policy and regulation in the last 30 days than they have in the last 12 years.
I wonder fucking why!?!?!?
Tenner a month.
Every little helps for folk in that situation I’m sure, but it’s not exactly going to pad out wallets.
Just salting the earth before Labour gets in. Announce a list of tax cuts just before an election and make labours job that much more difficult.
So let me get this straight, people want lower taxes and more government spending?
A tax cut that gives the most back to people on £50K.
What’s the fucking point. I’d happily pay an extra £1 a week towards the NHS and decent mental health/social services. Although we wouldn’t even need to do that if they’d JUST stop lining their own pockets and keeping the rich, rich. Gobshites.
In unrelated news energy companies have announced a 15p rise in both gas and electric standing charges.
