Carlo WTF??
Awful game. And this is becoming a trend…
No future in Europe
Performance aside, Vini needs to learn to keep his composure. I would’ve taken him off right there and then if I was Carlo.
this game felt like a fucking exam
this was a very odd game to witness and i genuinely hope ancelotti chooses not to experiment further unless it’s in genuinely unimportant games in case he wants to change our strategy for whatever reason.
we’re through and that’s all that matters. now let’s get our shit together PLEEK
I see we played like shit. But advancing means I am going to the bernabeu next month for next round 😁😁😁
On my grandmother, Ancelotti is working against us.
Luckily he saw that his formation wasn’t working out that he made a change at half time. But instead of subbing in the player who deserves it, he subs in his preferred name. Rodrygo really didn’t show anything for a while now that he should be above the pecking order instead of Diaz. With this sub Ancelotti was still hampering our attack, much the same as starting with 1 attacker.
Vini was lucky to not get a red. Because that was a red card. Easily. He could have ended our CL season with that one moment of stupidity….really wish our coaching staff would do their jobs in that respect as well. Nothing is seemingly being done to stop making Vini act like this. Aggrivating. He is already world class, imagine if he had a cool head as well. He’d be amazing.
He just came back from injury, so no reason to worry. Yet. But post-injury Bellingham is not looking that spry so far. He’ll have a couple of non-playing days to recuperate more due to the red card. Let’s hope he comes back looking more like pre-injury Bellingham. Because damn, are we going to need him looking at tonight.
The Germans were actually the better side over 2 games and imo easily ‘ deserved’ to go through instead. Luckily that stat matters nothing, but it does give worries for the future. Playing like this, we will have trouble against any team in the next round. Much less the actual contenders.
Name me one match where Nacho started and he didn’t concede a penalty, a red card or an error lead to goals.
Such a weird and unorganized performance. The whole game so sloppy on the ball and bad off ball movement. Defensively the midfield got overrun and even in the last minutes leipzig had acres of space in our half. Felt like there were more leipzig players on the field.
He played the entire first half with 5 midfielders. We played shit
He played almost the entire second half with 4.
And when he had to defend the most at the end of the game he played with 3 attackers… I don’t understand this coach and I hate how he makes us play sometimes
Yes he has brought incredible results despite the injuries. But the way we play is really hard to watch. I am not Carlo out tho. But I would like him to go after next season.
Blergh
People you need to understand, the whole team had an off day today, including Carlo.
At our best we can beat them easily, so have some trust in the Coach and the team that’s on top of La Liga and only lost twice this season.
We move and also the Giraffe will be back in April.
Half the team looked drunk, the other half looked hungover.
That sucked
I so hope we dont get city, this was not a good game
i would say hopefully Carlo learns from this game, but i doubt it
This is the real madrid way. Play fewa games shit, and turn on the masterclass in later stages.
The commentary in r/Soccer is making me smile right now.
I don’t get why Carlo would play Kroos when we had NO ONE in attack in the 1st half. Who is he gonna spray long balls to? This was such a Modric game. What a weird and disappointing game of football.
I hope modric trains camavinga well and kroos needs to coach tchouameni
What did I just watch?
I wasn’t feeling good about the outcome of this match, so I decided to stay up and watch. Instantly regretted it. What a bore to watch. I don’t know what to make of this result.
brotha uhh, uhhhh, what’s that brotha??
Bellingham has been completely fatigued on the field for more than a month now, probably because he can’t take it anymore, he has to constantly go up and down to defend like a dog with this shitty system.
Sorry guys, but I can’t stand Rodrygo anymore. Maybe he started well at one moment in past but now he’s almost useless. Mbappe is not bad option at all)
Que mierda el madrid dios mio
Brahim would have helped just saying
Last 4 games 3 draw 1 win
People need to understand that ‘just enough’ is good in cup competitions. And these kinds of games are the reality check for us as a club, players and as a fan. We got so much into Mbappe and who is going to the bench and so on, which in fact is the concern for next year.
The coach tried a new formation, which we can afford when we are 1-0 up in R16 rather than later. At least now we know it doesn’t work out. Not an enjoyable win, we got over the line, as always.
Rüdiger was just talking to Guillem Balague in the mixed zone and he was honest and blunt about our performance tonight.
He said that we weren’t at our best tonight, but going through is the most important thing.
However, he acknowledged that we need to improve because that wasn’t good. Respect for Rüdi’s honesty.
I’m sick and tired of Vini’s antics, and he always gets away with it, so it seems like he’ll never learn
I’m getting second hand embarrassment every time he pulls of shit like this, and at some point he’ll let his entire team down with one of these situations
What a horrible set up/display from both the coach and the team bar a couple of players .
Cama should move to LB for the rest of the season , Mendy can’t progress a ball forward to save his life
We peaked against Girona and have been poor ever since.
If Leipzig wasn’t a team that helped wash money to fund Verstappen car we would have lost today.
Ancelotti got bailed out by individual once again.
Lucky that Vini didn’t see the red.
This match brought the worst out of Ancelotti as a coach. Him being a coward choosing this shitty ass defensive tactics against a worse team, not giving a single minute to one of the reasons we are through, Brahim instead putting on the ghost of Brazil. Man this match made mad as fuck. At least we’re through but damn a shambolic performance.
Imagine facing City after this shit.
– Not many positives today. I think Modric and Rodrygo did pretty well off the bench. Lunin also showing overall that goalkeeper isn´t the position to worry about.
-For me the two sides with Vinicius remain. He is incredibly important to this team, maybe key if Real Madrid want to go really far. His behaviour at times on the pitch though…
-I want the Kroos-Tchouameni partnership to be broken up. I liked Valverde in the deeper position this season, it´s Camavingas favorite position… I don´t care, but I want one of those two given a real go (maybe even both of them). Maybe try Tchouameni at cb (I actually prefer him there at this point), maybe bench him, for me he just doesn´t impact games enough.
Im not gonna lie, Vini deserved a red card but luckily he didn’t get one….
Very low effort performance but Hala Madrid!
Watching city highlights rn… damn thats how you win a knockout match with authority. Clear favorites to win the ucl…
if i look at how we came through….uff man we have to improve in the next weeks. If not la liga could get complicated and bye bye champions
