>The European Union is considering the possibility of shifting the arms industry to war economy mode.
>The European Commission has started considering this possibility amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as the eastern countries of the Union might be in danger.
>First of all, the EU plans to develop incentives that should convince some countries to start and speed up the arms procurement process.
This should have been written in an article dated sometime in 2022, not 2024 for fucks sake.
This is so fucking stupid, after two years of an all-out war happening on the doorstep of Europe, the EU is starting to think that something’s amiss.
Fuckin finally…
Finally the World tension got above 80%, so EU can spend 150 pp to go to War Economy
No, seriously, this is great news.
Go, god damn it!!! I don’t want to be at the frontlines in 5 years because we wanted to save money!!!
I encourage everyone hear to actually read the reuters article this is based on, the headline and content don’t match.
Nobody is stating that the EU will go to war economy mode from now on(it already did so over the past 2 years), they are suggesting setting up an EU lead initiative for controlling arms production in the EU instead of individual countries doing so.
It is just a proposal of some streamlining and the guy that is leading the proposal used the “EU should go to war economy mode” sentence to create publicity around this 1.5 billion dollar plan, or less money than most EU countries already spent on increasing production individually…
Lets go allready
Happy to hear. Hopefully our government here in the US sends that aid package along too.
Two years in…wow. should have happened already in 2022🤷♂️
This is good for supporting EU independence too! And continuing support for ukraine.
Pick up the pace.
Or be overrun.
Great idea, will provide more weapons for Ukraine and if Russia decides to grow some balls and attack NATO they will be ready. And on top of all that history has proven that war economies thrive.
If I had been german Chancellor two years ago, I would have switched into war economy on the day Putler started this war. There would be no war anymore. But Scholz is the worst german leader in history, in a tie with Schröder, Putlers puppet. My opinion.
