Hello, first time at Switzerland and really not familiar with how heating is done here. The place where ai’m staying has this heater / radiator. Just wondering if it can be left on while away / at night with closed windows. I’m just trying to be cautious on any possible carbon monoxide buildup.

  1. Yes. There’s no CO from them, they just carry hot water from the basement in a closed circuit.

  2. That doesn’t emit any carbon monoxide, as you said, it’s just a radiator.

  3. Unless you’re using an indoor diesel generator to heat up that water, I don’t think there’s gonna be any carbon monoxide.

This is just a radiator that has hot water flowing through. Perhaps the water is heated using gas or oil, but that’s happening outside your room and getting vented outside.
