This is highly misleading as it cost a lot more than £15K when you also factor in the cost of legal representation which was also covered by the tax payer.
I funnily don’t have an issue with public funds being used for this: in lots of jobs if speaking through your official position you will be defended by your employer for things like libel claims.
Also in a lot of jobs you’d be sacked for using your official position to libel people. That’s the bit that seems missing here.
