Then it’s time for someone new because we’re in a state of near war for Europe.
The thing is that Olaf probably feels isolated. Biden is weak and can’t get much anything done at the moment, and Macron is a bit weird, while Sunak hasn’t even visited Berlin yet.
I think what we need is Scholz, Macron and Sunak sitting down and creating a new political leadership for the European war effort, so they can all shine and feel empowered.
Germany should already make up own minds about what is worse for it: or hypothetical war with Russia, or hypothetical new Cold War with fascistic Russia as part of authoritarian anti-Europe alliance?
Or the skeletons his former KGB handler has.
He has to change his policy. The Geheimnisverrat regarding the French and Brits boots on the ground policy was really telling…
Appeasing Putin is not the way. In particular aligning policy with the US can‘t be. Would we retreat if Trump does? No…
The US has a much more powerful military (i. e. to say they have one in the first place) and they have two oceans, one on each side.
We have to align our policy with our partners and friends around us. And we have to pay our share, even though of course the money could be spent otherwise in education and more productive things… this all is worth nothing if we are at war. And we will be if Putin succeeds. And then it will just get much more expensive, in particular more humans will die.
Scholtz is a fool.
