I don’t doubt that the Russians “would” invade Moldova if they somehow conquered Ukraine… it is, however, a question of ability. How long do we think russia would be able to maintain supply lines through occupied Ukraine or even anywhere near its costal waters? At what cost?
Make no mistake, the Russians are trying and currently not succeeding at what is supposed to be the easy part of invading a country in the modern day. Imagine the level of insurgent activity should Ukraine be taken, imagine the level of support that would receive.
There’s no version of this that ends in the new russian empire, there is ofcourse increased likelihood of ww3 but idk I just don’t see the Russians managing to pull off any further aggression in the few decades following occupation. Shit I’d be willing to bet they’d maybe last a decade and then pull out.
