  1. lmao “Ecclesiastical fury”.

    Tax the churches.

  2. if they want war, cut the funding.

tired of having to pay to cultists to tell us what to do based on fantasy books.

  3. actually everyone should excommunicate because churches blackmail governments for money saying “i’ve got so many followers” when in reality people get baptised and never step on a church again, but they still count them to ask for money.

  4. When excomunicated, convert to another religion! 🤣

  5. Good.

We re asking for separation of state and church for ages, now the Church is doing steps in this direction xD

  6. I’m sure this is what Jebus would do! NOT.

„You are a mafia killer, my son? Your deeds will be forgiven if you really regret it.“

„You want same rights for everyone? Excommunicado!“

  7. It seems that someone here is pissed because Christians are against omosexual marriages.
Of course they are, since gays are mocking an important and sacred institution.

As usual r/Europe is full of depravated satanists

  8. Eye for an eye: excommunicate the MPs, remove citizenship of the clergy.

  9. Ah. Time old tradition of the Church – to make people miserable and stick its nose into stuff that is none of their business. You gotta make people miserable…

  10. So orthodox church of England 2: eclesiastic boogaloo?

  11. The Church needs to realise that this ship has sailed; fighting against gay marriage in 2024 just makes them look silly.

  12. Just ban the churches already, religion has no place in this day and age.

  13. I’m gay and catholic, and these people are hypocrite. They should’ve excommunicated MPs too who were divorced, adulterers, cheaters and shellfish eaters.

  14. Better late than never.

I actually would expect Greece to be the 1st nation to pass such law.

  15. IMO, the church is part of our culture but generally (and I speak only from my own experience) has very little sway in our day to day lives unlike, say, what’s happening in the US right now which is actually turning into a theocracy. So, like, who cares what they say, and who is really worried about being excommunicated? Like, that’s going to stop us from tsipno Pempti or kokoretsi at Easter, or celebrating Christmas?

  16. Please do it! We’ll have a good laugh! Like a hundred years ago, when the State introduced the Gregorian Calendar and the church didn’t, but then the 25th of March came and they realised that the National and the religious celebrations that usually coincided that day (because of religious pressure, they wouldn’t coincide if the national celebration was historically accurate) didn’t coincide anymore, so they swiftly switched to the Gregorian Calendar too. But they kept Easter in the Julian Calendar, just to show us.

Edit to add some info: I don’t believe Ieronymos is tamer than other religious leaders in Greece. He’s just smarter. He’ll let the usual suspects bark (the bishops of Kalavryta and Kalamata for example, as they are beyond crazy), the Russian puppets talk, and the local priests brainwash their victims about the situation, and then he comes after the situation is already out of control and makes the quietest possible announcement that this is not the official position of the church. Of course, nobody takes it seriously at that point, because the situation is out of control, except for the secular side, who believes that he’s trying to calm them down. Also, Ambrosios is the aforementioned bishop of Kalavryta.

  17. Do you know that the Pope excommunicated the whole italian state after the unification of Italy, so every catholics should had abstain to partecipate in the polical life because it would have meant “being an enemy of the religion” ?
