    Getafe can afford to sign Greenwood because they don’t have an image to protect, as a matter of fact they probably think all the negative publicity works in their favor, I mean who the hell knows.

    On the other hand, if Barcelona signs this guy it can have real consequences, it will hurt the club’s image and I wouldn’t be shocked to see sponsors pulling out, fans outraged and many other things, only scratching the surface here. So in theory this signing will be a net-negative for the club.

    All that said, club morals are all time low and this is a Tier 2 source so I wouldn’t put it past them. The fact they are even considering this is kinda embarassing.

  29. Tjuanmarti was one of the people last season that started the rumour that Kounde wants to leave the club and then Jules came on Twitter and denied it saying he’s not going anywhere. He’s really a hit or miss, hopefully this story is the latter.

  32. Putting aside internet wah-wah and looking at it strictly from a business angle, there is logic to it. Whether the logic is correct is to be seen.

    For a start, the player is deeply undervalued just from a sporting point of view. It would be an opportunity to grab a very motivated, talented player at a bargain price.

    There’s then the cultural angle and whether the move is viable. This they would have to look at very carefully, probably by running research surveys in all the major markets.

    Not sure how many people remember the signing of Luis Suarez, but he was vilified in Britain for racism and violence, to the point he could no longer really play there. Barcelona snapped him up, he cleaned up his image and it turned out a very smart move.
