“Roughly 1,000 skeletons of plague victims have so far been found in mass graves in the center of the city of Nuremberg, which experts believe may contain a total of more than 1,500 people, according to a press release published Tuesday.”
Plague victims was definitely not where my head went first.
After how many years does grave robbing pivot into archeology?
And this my friends is why smart people get vaccinated for contagious diseases.
Plague victims was not my first thought. Or even my second.. or third..
Wonder if any pathogens still present.
The people in the photos aren’t wearing protective gear.
Admit it. We all thought the same thing at first.
There’s a ton of history buried underneath Nuremberg apparently. I remember reading about in WWII the Nazis were digging bomb shelters and discovered a perfectly intact Roman villa
Sounds haunted.
Don’t grief my skeleton spawner please
Some of the comments here are just bizarre
I hope it’s from before WW2 else I might know who is in that grave
That is one hell of a closet
#OH GOOD! LET’S START EXCAVATING PLAGUE PITS!
My mom died aug. She lost her 6 month old sister and parents in holocaust . All 3 had no grave so my father put their names on my mom’s headstone. All 4 are together again
actually my second guess was something relating to the 30 Years War, the city got smacked pretty hard by the Swedes. in fact it never really recovered, which sort of cemented its medieval charm (until WW2).
