I’d Putin thinks every Western country will just allow them to take over Ukraine, then he’s crazier than I thought he is.
This invasion will make all US allies get into an arms race. Probably good time to show your best weapons to prospective buyers
Ukraine is not a NATO member. Ukraine has never asked for NATO to send troops to defend Ukraine. In fact the the Foreign Minister and Minister of Defense have said that Ukraine will fight this war.
However! Will Europe really stand by and do the bare minimum to support Ukraine? If Russia takes Ukraine do you really think they will stop? Ukraine is being threatened with complete invasion from three different fronts for the simple reason that Ukrainians have chosen democracy over authoritarianism, reforms over corruption (even though there is still much work left to do yet).
The world can not stand still and allow an independent sovereign state be invaded (again) for simply wanting to westernize.
So the Netherlands also, although they are not really aware right now.
Ukraine, the most corrupt shit on the Eurasian plate. And all we do is throw money at it… Let’s say I am not a fan…

There most likely will not be a military response from NATO, but I doubt Stoltenberg and Scholz have enough power of love for peace/actual power to stop shit from hitting the fan if Russian boots touch the other side of Dnieper.
When I was 12 or so another student at school once asked our history teacher why we need to learn history, the immediate answer was to make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes from the past.
Turns out he couldn’t have been more wrong.
Just because NATO doesn’t get involved doesn’t mean that NATO countries won’t.
