Hey there! Im traveling to Estonia for tourism and I’ll be staying one week. I was planning to stay 4 nights in Tallinn and 3 nights in Kuressaare.
I’m going to rent a car but Im thinking 3 nights in Kuressaare might be too much. Since is kind of a long drive, I was thinking I could leave one from Kuressaare night earlier and stay somewhere in the middle of the way to Tallinn.
So my question is, is there anything worth seeing on the route Tallinn-Kurressaare? A good restaurant/hotel/spa or a nice city off the beaten path cute enough to spend the night? Thanks!

Haapsalu or someplace in Saaremaa
I don’t know how it shows 4h trip from Tallinn to Kuressaare. Tallinn-Virtsu is 1,5h trip by car. From there 20min with a ferry and ~1h to Kuressaare by car.
You don’ t need to sleep between these points at all IMO. Unless you really want to sleep ewerywhere.
Haapsalu!! Its a beautiful city and it has good spas also. Hestia or Fra Mare are both good.
Go to Haapsalu.
If you are travelling now or in summer? Haapsalu is /really/ nice in summer, pick a place off booking.com or air BNB near the waterfront, there’s nice restaurants and cafes, the castle + Haapsalu museums to see. In winter, many restaurants are closed for the season, it’s a little lonely, perhaps.
If budget is not the limit, I mean if you are up for something really fancy, check out Pädaste Manor and the restaurant there on Muhu island.
Same thing re budget, but if you have the resources, Maidla Nature Resort with its boutique villas is a special experience, near Rapla.
For more reasonably priced options, a rental car gives you a lot of nice flexibility. If you want a day out of Tallinn and Kuressaare, but near Tallinn, stay the night at Laulasmaa spa and visit Arvo Pärt Centre near there if his music is your thing at all – sometimes they have concerts. Nearby Ott and Matilda cafe is nice.
But Kuressaare – Tallinn is a lot shorter drive, for some reason Maps messes it up. So there’s really no need to stop at all.
On Saaremaa, drive to Salme for the Same Sai Bakery, visit the Kuressaare castle if they’re open, and for Italian food, La Perla. Cafe Classic does decent breakfasts. In Kuressaare, Hafen for a nice restaurant, and see whether Särg in Nasva is open (closed for Winter at the moment).
For some reason maps always thinks you need to go from the mainland to Muhu island and then back to the mainland or something when it shows the eta
All the hotels and accommodation you could hope for is usually listed in Google Maps as well. Just click on hotels and enter the dates. You can then proceed to book on booking websites.
What you could also do is island hopping.
That is, from mainland go to Hiiumaa (port is near, just west of Haapsalu, so you can visit it too), do a day-trip on Hiiumaa (or stay for the night), next day take a ferry from Hiiumaa to Saaremaa (there are just two trips, one in the morning and one in the afternoon though; tickets [here](https://www.veeteed.com)), explore some of north-western Saaremaa, stay for the night or two for example in Kuressaare and then at the end take back trip to mainland via Muhu (the route on your map).
OR… the other way around. Just an alternative suggestion.

EDIT: Rough route added (hey, it somewhat looks like Saaremaa!)
