A rare moment when the News is 100% confirmed as a fact.
Jeremy ‘I’d make excellent rhyming slang but I lack both the depth and the warmth’ Hunt
It’s what we’ll know him as, and what we all call him. Most people would’ve said “who?” If she’d used his family name.
Reminds me when the guy on BBC broadcast dedicated to the Charles coronation said “For king Charles” in a manner that really sounded like “foking Charles”. Still puts a smile on my face.
I always think why do they make such a fuss over these things, it’s just an accident, she hasn’t gone off script and said something intentionally bad. Just have a little chuckle over it and move on. When people call for the broadcaster to be sacked or something it’s ridiculous. Why is reading the news taken so bloody seriously.
Let’s call a spade a spade, you can’t say anything *theeese days*
I can’t understand the fuss with this.
We want our news to be accurate and honest. And she was accurate and honest!

And then 5 mins later they had a “fhritp” interruption
I can’t believe the ITV (w)anchor would call him Mr Cunt. Jokes aside, she’s right.
Shout out John Inverdale

“Hi, my name is…”
Bloody hell, that link couldn’t have any more ads and pop-ups if it tried.
Mister Jeremy Rhyming slang, the cunt that gave us the NHS as we know it,now in charge of the whole economy.
Let’s hope he’s not shit,too.
If Roger Mellie can manage it… https://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=43313
No, I’m perfectly happy she got his name right the first time.
It was far worse when someone convinced him to become “Jeremy Hunt, Culture Secretary” – I’m convinced they knew what they were doing.
Didn’t Evan Davies become notorious for misnaming him on the Today Programme?
But Miriam Margolyes meant it:
