  1. **From The Telegraph:**

Canada has pledged to join a UK and Latvia-led coalition to provide drones to Ukraine.

The announcement comes as Grant Shapps, the UK defence secretary, yesterday pledged to purchase an additional 10,000 “cutting edge” drones for Kyiv.

The new package, worth £325 million, further boosts the £200 million drone package unveiled during Rishi Sunak’s visit to Kyiv in January.

It mainly contains first-person view (FPV) drones, as well as surveillance and maritime drones and 1,000 one-way attack drone developed in the UK

Mr Shapps said that more than £100 million from the assistance will be spent on Ukraine’s maritime capabilities to help Kyiv “continue to turn the tide in the Black Sea”.

  2. Oh yeah!!! With what drones? We don’t have that much military assets. Our military is crippled.

  3. As a UK tax payer, I’m really happy we will see more drones in action.

  4. The UK will always stand by Ukraine. Thank you for your sacrifice

  5. Crazy that after years of developing big nasty wartime machines, its all come down to tiny little FPV drones with explosives strapped to them. It saves lives i guess so that’s good! Even gigantic naval ships being sunk by drones that compared to a giant ship are cheap.

  6. Canadian here, I want us to do better for them
Even if Ukraine is geographically far, I fell like if I am one or them and I want this madness to stop quickly!

Vive l’Ukraine libre et en paix 🇨🇦🕊️🇺🇦

  7. Canada. Once again making the USA look bad.
    (I’m a USAer)

  8. The problem with our pledges is that we’re not providing long term solutions. Canada is spending money to buy these things for Ukraine instead of building the infrastructure to produce them. Right now we’re only capable of producing the 155mm ‘training’ artillery rounds, not the commonly used ‘operational’ round, but the government doesn’t want to spend the 400m that would be required to update the facilities to produce it. I’m glad we’re on Ukraine’s side, I just wish we would make a more long term commitment to help supply these things.
