Politics aside, whether you voted yes or no, this is ridiculous. Like seriously. How do you mess up a vote that tells you exactly what to do in BOLD?

  1. …I mean…

I can see this being counted as it’s not quite identifiable and it’s NOT ambiguous in intent.

At the same time: I expect this low-turnout day to have a higher-than-normal number of spoiled votes.

  2. There really is no idiot proofing anything the general public interact with. Laughable stupidity and inability to follow simple instructions. IIRC cases like this the vote would usually count if the intention is clear and there was no writing elsewhere that might spoil the ballot.

  3. You’d seriously wonder how fellas like him even manage to register in the first place. Professional wistel blower.

  4. “Next time you’re voting bring a carer with you”.

  5. To be fair, the box only states mark you answer. The “no” vote will be accepted.

  6. It’s kinda reassuring that idiots in fact, do not get an equal vote.

  7. Is there anything to be said for a simple IQ test that should be passed before a person has the right to vote?

  8. I see he brought his own pen because “they” can rub out your vote and change it if you use pencil!

  9. Knew a lot of people bringing a pen to the vote today so the Government can’t ‘rub out’ their vote. You can’t make these people up.

  10. “Intention of the voter” was something that was used and comprehensively challenged when their was recounts in the state of Florida in the 2000 US presidential election.

That’s going to be a spoiled vote full stop. It says mark X, if you do anything else, it’s not valid. Simple as that.

  11. I’ve done the count before. This will be counted for sure. No ambiguity. Same way if in the general election if someone just ticked one box, it would be counted as just putting in a 1. Usually they sway towards not voiding a vote if they can.

To be fair your man still a gom

  12. With grammar (or lack thereof) like that, it’s no wonder hai

  13. If you ever worked in retail , this picture is no way surprizing

  14. It’ll definitely be counted. I’m pretty sure you have to do your best to count all votes, and in this case it seems obvious the intention is a no vote
