Presiding lad said lower than 30% for us. That was at 8:45pm, in an area with normally a 60+% turnout.
This is gonna be a massive shit heap for FFG. Not least with Leo breaking the law again
Will well have exit polls over the evening or will I have to wait until I wake up?
Everybody at my polling station at 11am
This morning was 65+.
Plenty of them too
Hold up, what is with this thumbnail, is the voting being done in someone’s kitchen?
When I was voting at about 5pm in Cork City centre almost it was all elderly voters. I wouldn’t be surprised if neither pass if that’s what was going on all day.
A lot of my colleagues weren’t even aware there was a referendum on. Many people were saying they only got polling cards this morning too.
This is one of the things that worries me a bit. A lot of the younger generation wouldn’t have seen it if it wasn’t heavily debated on social media and it wasn’t unless you’re getting hit with far right stuff, which most of them probably aren’t.
I didn’t see any physical posters either. Seemed very quiet.
The apathy towards these particular referenda is widespread. Talked to three colleagues in work today, two of them forgot about it, one of them wasn’t registered and one of them said they weren’t going to bother voting. The other said they might as they had recently got a polling card in the post and was wondering why.
50% in parts.
Much lower in most other parts.
Even if these amendments pass, serious questions need to be asked. Pointless waste of time and money that could have been better dedicated to something useful – scoliosis treatment for kids, for example
My table had ~480 eligible persons on the electorate and we issued 186 ballots, so almost 40%. Much higher turn out than I was expecting
Any exit polls?
It seems places with a turnout of at least 50% are few and far between.
A minority of people shouldn’t get to dictate the constitution.
Is there a minimum turnout for an referendum to pass or?
And the very same people who never bothered to get off their arse and vote are the ones who will complain when the results come out and they realise they disagree with the outcome.
42% where I was, we had exactly 150 vote of a possible 350. We found that we could make people materialise to vote simply by either popping out for a smoke or going to get food/tea! That brought the numbers up a bit
I went up at 6pm barely any cars outside. Went in and no one there but the people working the polling booths. I went up to to sign in and the sheet had only 3 or 4 names crossed out. She said it was a very long slow day barely anyone came to vote – (wateford city)
I wonder if 50% of the voters even knew what they were voting for?
K, now that we have voted, Can someone tell me what we voted for? I’d add the /s, but
